Silver art clay jewellery courses started in April

        

The silver clay courses are taken by Kirsty, a qualified level 2 tutor here at 'The silver zebra studio' set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside.

ART CLAY BASICS:  September 8th ,9th, < FULL 14th  & 28th  + October 3rd   10am - 4pm
 
This workshop is suitable for novices as well as those more familiar with working with Art Clay Silver, we will introduce you to all the basics of handling the clay, shaping, texturising etc. Also including is the finishing aspects of Art Clay Silver enabeling a professional result.
The Cost of this workshop is £75.00 which includes the Silver to make 3 pieces of Jewellery and the use of all tools
 
Mixed Media ART CLAY SILVER AND GLASS  September 26th and September 28th
 
During this workshop you will learn the basics of firing glass into cabachons, an understanding of working with glass and how to combine this with Silver Clay.  You will make a Pendant which will utilise provided glass cabachons.  You will also learn the finishing techniques to produce a professional item.
The Cost of this course is £110 which includes all  Silver Clay & full use of all tools & glass cabachons.  Experience of working with Silver Clay is neccessary to attend this workshop
 
LENTIL BEAD 3D  35mm x 15mm  with  22ct gold embellishment + wire earrings:  September 12th This is around the actual size depending on your monitor
 
This workshop introduces you to working with 22CT Art CLay Gold Paste, you will make a substantial lentil bead which is a bold focal pendant.  You will learn how to make this piece as well as the application of the 22 CT Gold paste and this special firing and finishing procedures for this item.  you will also learn how to make the leather thong with findings which it hangs from. You will also make a pair of sterling silver wire earrings on this course, incorporating wire work and balancing your wire design on your chosen posts or french wires.
The Cost of this workshop is £115 which inludes all of the Silver Clay, the use of the Gold Clay Paste, findings and full use of all tools required to make this exceptional piece.
This Course is only suitable for people with some experience of working with Silver Clay
 
 
FINGERPRINT JEWELLERY USING ART CLAY SILVER: October 26th
    
 
This workshop is suitable for novices as well as those more familiar with working with Art Clay Silver. During this workshop you will be taught how to capture a fingerprint onto Silver Clay, the preperation of the Silver Clay, adding names and dates or a kiss, Setting gemstones plus all of the finishing techniques to enable a professional standard.  Especially important if you wish to start your own business.  The Cost of this course is £110 which includes all of the clay use of tools, gemstones and findings needed
 
RING MAKING USING ART CLAY SILVER October 29th  £110
Create your very own customised rings
 
This workshop teaches you how to make two different types of rings.  You will learn how to design, make and finish your rings to a high standard.  You will learn how to set a stone, measure for the perfect fit, add texture or syringe patterns.  This workshop is suitable for those with some experience of metals clay.  The cost included all materials (20 g of clay) and full use of tools as required
 
 
All Courses are taught by a Fully qualified Level 2 Art Clay Senior Instructor.
Course places are allocated on a first come first served basis, each course has a maximum of 6 places, once full no more deposits will be taken but we can add you to the waiting list for any cancelations.

 'Silversmithing' classes

        

"Silversmithing for Beginners. Class dates:  August 17th  <FULL   Sept 13th     November 15th

10am - 5pm   £120 includes all materials and lunch

This course offers an introduction to the basic techniques of making jewellery using traditional methods. Cutting, forming, planishing, drilling, filing and polishing techniques will all be used to produce several pieces of unique contemporary silver jewellery.

Be prepared for some hardwork and fun! Tutored by Angela Ruth Kennedy Course runs 10am - 5pm.

1st course day includes a SZ £10 gift voucher!! Course cost £120 inc all materials and lunch.

During the course you will be making a pair of earrings and a domed pendant using 925 silver in sheet and wire form. Additional pieces of jewellery can be made, time permitting.

Make your own findings!  October 5th  10am - 5pm  £120 includes all materials & lunch

Here you will learn how to make your own individual ear wires, various jump rings, tags etc, realising how you can reduce your costs! A course suited to those already making jewellery or complete beginners who want to add that individual style to their pendants and charm bracelets etc.

During the course you will create several findings to take home, your very own pair of earrings and work on producing a linked bracelet.

Silversmithing intermediate course:  November 15th 10am - 5pm  £120 inc all materials & lunch.
 
This course builds on skills gained in the beginners course or for those with some experience or knowledge, and offers new skills such as soldering, reticulation and granulation. During the course students will produce a ring and a bespoke pendant of their own design.
