Learn all the basics, & more in just one day! inc easy cutting techniques, stacking, slumping, as well as getting to grips with oxides, stringers & frits. We will also guide you through the importance of glass COE rates and which to buy for those thinking about starting out in fused glass. We offer both easy projects & more complex ones for those wanting to jump in the deep end. We will also cover safety issues & how to get started in the big exciting world of glass fusing. Create as many projects as time allows! bowls, wall panels, sculptures, coasters to name a few! A great course for a relaxing creative day out or, a starting point for anyone wishing to undertake an unusual hobby or a new creative business!

We will take a look at landscape / countryside photographs for this project, you are welcome to bring along your own too, maybe from your holidays or home? Once we map out the design we will look how to incorporate sculpted elements & colour. You will learn the basic priniciples of glass fusing on this course whilst creating two vessels, one being a bowl with the second project being a sushi dish. The sushi dish will be of a contempory design but also with sculpted elements.

Your day begins with an exciting introduction to glass fusing, including cutting skills & technical information. This course is suitable for complete beginners or those already creating jewellery with other materials! We will then start the design process taking an in-depth look at colours & shape. Throughout the day you will experiment with glass, frits, metal, wire & inclusions. You will be shown how to create holes & fittings as part of the fused glass piece & will also experiment with bails. In addition to making cabochons from sheet glass, this course also introduces students to the exciting world of painting on glass inc easy tips for those not comfortable with a brush.
We aim to give students a large eclectic taste of jewellery making skills, & the opportunity to try as many techniques as possible. You will create quite a few pieces of jewellery on this course! in fact, as many as you can make in the time allowed!

This is one of our most popular & exciting fused glass courses as the end results can be both stunning & very different from the basic glass fusing techniques.The class is suitable for those that have attended our Introduction to glass course or for total beginners! We will guide you through the process of cutting & working with glass, frits, paints & fibre boards to create reliefs & moulds as well all the basics in glass fusing. Sample pieces may also be made time permitting.

1st day -What will I learn? All the basics of glass fusion inc: cutting glass, creating shapes, types of glass, safety, tools & how to use frits, stringers & many other compatible materials. What will I make? Set of coasters & a small free standing sculpture. In the afternoon you can choose to make any one of the following: bowl or wall panel.
3rd day - What will I learn? Kiln carving methods, manipulating glass noodles. How to incorporate inclusions: leaves, mesh, metal & wires. What will I make? Sculpted & tack fused set of 3 wall panels. 10 x 30cm each. [can be shaped]

This workshop is suitable for total beginners or improvers although, those who attended our Introduction workshop would have an added advantage. We will guide you through creating your very own fused glass panel using your very own design or we can assist if you don't have one, so no drawing skills are needed. You will use glass, frits, stringers & oxides to name just a few to create your panel! *Panel size can be to your specification if arranged prior to your class. You are also welcome to cut down into sections.
This project is ideal for those wishing to create their very own unique glass wall panel!

Tick-tock! Learn the basics of glass fusion whilst creating a fused glass clock. 10am - 3.30pm £75 inc all materials, lunch & refreshments.

Ideal for total beginners! You will learn new skills & create a fused glass clock in one of the following dimensions: 10 x 30cm or 20 x 20 cms. We will apply the movement for you so it will be ready to tick when you collect your work. A choice of either a wall or freestanding mantel clock will be given.

Private tuition is available by request & must be booked 2 weeks in advance. The cost is £48 per hour & inc all materials & refreshments.
